Hellenic National League strugglers Ionikos have parted company with Ukrainian coach Oleg Blokhin, the Athens club announced on Thursday.
'Nothing more to offer'
"He had given all he could and had nothing more to offer," Ionikos said in a statement. Blokhin, a legendary former FC Dynamo Kyiv striker, joined Ionikos two seasons ago, but has been unable to build a winning team.
Former USSR international
Ionikos are yet to win a single match in the league this season and lost 4-0 to OFI Crete on Sunday, leaving them bottom of the table. Blokhin has previously coached FC PAOK Thessaloniki, Olympiakos Piraeus FC and AEK Athens FC. A former USSR international, he was voted European Footballer of the Year in 1975.
