Yugoslav first division club FK Rad have named Zvonko Varga as their new coach.

Troubled times
Although the Belgrade club are eighth in the 18-team division, these are troubled times for Rad. They are struggling financially and saw their offices destroyed following a fire at the club's stadium last week.

'Received guarantees'
"Our goal is to stay in the first league," the 43-year-old Varga said. "I received guarantees that the managing team of the club will do their best to take care of the club properly and that is why I decided to accept the post."

Former coach quit
Varga, who resigned as coach of OFK Beograd in December, succeeds Cedomir Joincevic, who quit last month, at Rad.
