Two-year deal
Bordinggaard, who recently resigned as coach of Danish Superleague team Vejle BK, has agreed a two-year contract with the Danish Football Association. The deal will take Bordinggaard through to the UEFA European Championship in 2004.
Olsen pleased
Head coach Morten Olsen was delighted with the appointment, saying: "He’s exactly the person we were looking for. He’s a young coach who’s very dynamic and enthusiastic. His human qualities are perfect for this side and he shares the same football philosophy as myself".
Passionate leader
Bordinggaard is looking forward to working for Olsen. He said: "Of course I know Morten as a player but it is primarily as a coach that I come to know him as a competent and very passionate leader who’s willing to improve Danish football on all levels. "It will be a big challenge to coach some of the best players in Europe but I am sure I am the man for the job".
Laudrup Quitting
Olsen’s current assistant, Laudrup announced in October that he would leave the role after the World Cup to pursue a career within club management.
