PSV Rampant
Two goals in the first 12 minutes from Wilfred Bouma and Dennis Rommedahl saw PSV take a commanding early lead and they were almost assured of all three points after 48 minutes when Arnold Bruggink added a third. Midfielder Cristiano pulled a goal back for the visitors six minutes from time but it was too little two late for NAC.
Slender lead
However, PSV’s lead in the league is likely to be short-lived, as title challengers AFC Ajax and Feyenoord can overhaul them by winning their games on Sunday.
More gloom for Sittard
Bottom side SC Fortuna Sittard continued their miserable season with a 5-0 defeat at De Graafschap. Ukrainian winger Ruslan Valeev set up John van den Brom and Peter van Vossen for first-half goals. Van Vossen added a second in the second half before Ilija van Leerdam and Martijn Meerdink completed the rout.
Alkmaar hang on
Elsewhere, ten-man AZ Alkmaar held on to secure a 3-2 win against FC Groningen, with Kenneth Perez's 20-metre drive proving decisive just after Magnus Johansson's penalty, given after Abdelkrim El Hadrioui was dismissed for deliberate handball, had brought Groningen back into the game.
Roda strike late
Two late goals earned Roda JC a 2-1 win against FC Twente. Regilio Vrede's had given the visitors the lead, but Ivan Vicelic and Edrissa Sonko scored in the final eleven minutes of the game to give Roda a dramatic victory.
