Yugoslavian international striker Savo Milosevic returned to Real Zaragoza with a bang on Sunday, scoring twice in a 3-2 win over fellow strugglers Rayo Vallecano.
Move to Parma
Milosevic scored 21 goals for Zaragoza during the 1999/00 season, nearly steering the club into the UEFA Champions League, before being sold to Italian club Parma AC following his exploits at EURO 2000™. With the Serie A side struggling to find the right balance on and off the field this season Milosevic's form dipped, and Zaragoza were delighted to step in and take him back on loan this month.
'Understood the significance'
If his weekend performance at La Romareda stadium was any indication, the Spanish club are likely to take up the option of buying him for €10m at the end of the current campaign. "Everything came easily to me on the pitch," Milosevic told uefa.com. "I understood the significance of the match and I could not have wished for a better comeback."
'Complicated situation'
"We achieved our main objective, which was to win," he added. "It is very important to change things around and start to get out of a complicated situation. This is just an introduction into a series of Zaragoza's best matches."
