Uruguayan international
The Uruguayan international, who has only played one match for Inter in two seasons at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium, will move to the Barcelona-based team as back-up to established strikers Raúl Tamudo and Francisco Palencia.
'Beneficial effect'
"I am not the saviour but I like the idea of having a beneficial effect," said the 25-year-old forward as he was unveiled at a press conference on Monday.
Relegation worries
Espanyol are in need of all the help they can get as they try to climb from the relegation zone in Spain's Primera División. Current in 17th position, Francisco Flores' side have won just once in their last six league outings.
