FC Spartak Moscow prepared for the quarter-finals of the Commonwealth Cup in style by beating Armenian champions FC Pyunik 6-2.

Beschastnykh scores again
Russian prodigy Aleksandr Danishevskiy was in fine form in Tuesday's victory even though the Russian champions had already secured a last-eight match against Georgian club FC Torpedo Kutaisi on Wednesday. Vladimir Beschastnykh was on the scoresheet again for the Moscow club, making it five goals in just three games, as was the newly-acquired teenager Dmitri Sychev. Torpedo confirmed their place by beating Kazakhstan champions Zhenis Astana 2-1.

Easy for Dynamo
FC Dynamo Kyiv, Ukraine's finest, cruised past Tajikistani team Regar-TadAZ Tursunzade 2-0 and will take on Turkmenistani hopefuls Nisa Ashkhabad in their quarter-final. Victory was assured for Dynamo through goals from Romanian defender Florian Cernat and Nigerian striker Lucky Idahor.

Emphatic victory
Latvian representatives FC Skonto are the only team in the tournament yet to concede a goal. They made it three consecutive clean sheets with a 2-0 victory over Russia's Under-19 side. Talented youngster Maris Verpakovskis put Skonto in the lead just six minutes into the game, and Lithuanian international Orestas Buitkus doubled the advantage in the second half. Skonto will now face FC Sheriff Tiraspol in the quarter-finals, after the Moldovans scored an emphatic 4-2 victory over FC Neftchi Fergana.

Flora make it through
FBK Kaunas of Lithuania will face Baltic rivals FC Flora in the next round, after drawing 0-0 with Azerbaijan club FC Shamkir. Flora secured their place in the knockout stages after they edged out fellow quarter-finalists Nisa Ashkhabad with a 1-0 victory. Belarussian outfit FC Belshina Bobruisk disappointed in a 1-1 draw against FC SKA PVO of Kyrgizstan, both teams failing to make it out of their group.
