Saturday's Ligat ha-Al action was marred by Maccabi Tel-Aviv defender Meni Levy's illness.

Serious illness
The 21-year-old defender collapsed after nine minutes of his side's game at Beitar Jerusalem and was taken to hospital after ambulance crews failed to revive him at the stadium. He was taken to hospital unconscious and the match was abandoned.

Haifa stay top
Maccabi Haifa maintained their lead at the top of the Israeli Premier League with a 1-0 win against Maccabi Petach-Tikva. Giovanni Rosso scored the only goal of the game after 29 minutes at the Kiriat Eliezer Municipality stadium.

Beer-Sheva win away
Hapoel Beer-Sheva scored an impressive 2-0 victory away at Hapoel Petach-Tikva. Rammi Laden opened the scoring for the visitors 10 minutes from time when he cooly slotted home from the penalty spot and Yaniv Abergil was on hand to net the second in injury time. In Saturday's other game, Maccabi Netania and Hapoel Haifa played out an uninspiring goalless draw.
