Rayo coach signs familiar face

Rayo Vallecano coach Gregorio Manzano has bought Angel Manuel Vivar Dorado from Racing Santander.

Rayo Vallecano coach Gregorio Manzano has strengthened his squad for their battle against relegation by signing Angel Manuel Vivar Dorado from Racing Santander.

First-team action
Manzano knows the striker well from the time they worked together at Santander last season before Manzano was surprisingly sacked to make way for Gustavo Benítez. Dorado was pleased to have the chance to resurrect his career at a Primera División club after struggling to hold down a first-team place at El Sardinero. "I wasn't getting into the coach's plans at Racing and now I have come to Rayo, where the coach knows me," said Dorado.

Well off for strikers
Rayo are already well off for strikers, with the likes Elvir Bolic, Bolo, and former Real Madrid CF striker Elvir Baljic already competing for a place, but Dorado is relishing the challenge. "I know I shall have to work very hard to earn a place in the starting line-up even as Rayo have some quality players," he said.
