Maccabi Haifa’s rising star Yossi Bennayoun was the hero in a 2-1 win over Hapoel Tel-Aviv in the Israeli Premier League on Monday

Bennayoun’s 76th–minute winner was his 50th goal for the club and completed a great fightback. Hapoel were behind in the 27th minute through Istvan Pisont’s chipped finish over goalkeeper Dudu Awat.

Yet Hapoel came back strongly after half-time and drew level in the 73rd minute through Nigerian substitute Yacubo Ayegbini, who converted Giovanni Rossi’s pass. Then, three minutes later, Rossi played in Benayoun who found the net with ease.
