Scotland round-up: Old Firm leave it late

Rangers FC staged a remarkable second-half fightback on Wednesday to beat Dunfermline Athletic FC 4-2 in the Scottish Premier League.

Two for De Boer
Alex McLeish looked likely to suffer his first defeat since taking over as Rangers manager last month when Scott Thomson scored twice in the first half, both with his head. But Tony Vidmar's goal two minutes after the restart signalled a Rangers comeback. Two goals from Ronald de Boer put Rangers in front before Shota Arveladze sealed the win from the penalty spot.

Celtic maintain lead
Champions Celtic FC remain 13 points clear of their Glasgow rivals after a late show against Heart of Midlothian FC. Martin O'Neill's side were indebted to two goals from Henrik Larsson in the final ten minutes as they won 2-0.

Dramatic winner
Aberdeen FC substitute Darren Mackie scored a dramatic 90th-minute goal to give his side a 4-3 win at Hibernian FC. Home goalkeeper Nick Colgan saved Derek Young's penalty - only for Mackie to slam home the loose ball. Hibernian fell behind three times but came up with a trio of equalisers before Mackie's late strike.

Motherwell victory
In the night's other game, Motherwell FC eased their relegation worries with a 2-0 win over Kilmarnock FC, with youngster James McFadden and new signing Dirk Lehmann on target.
