Chelsea FC will be without influential central defender John Terry for up to six matches with a fractured toe.
Vassell challenge
The 21-year-old Terry sustained the injury in a 50-50 tackle with Darius Vassell in Saturday's 1-1 FA Premiership draw with Aston Villa FC. Scans have revealed damage to his right foot that will sideline him until mid-March.
Williams comments
Chelsea assistant manager Gwyn Williams said: "John's got a crack in his toe and will be out for a month. The x-ray didn't show a lot so he had a scan and it's a hairline fracture. These things take time to overcome so you've just got to wait."
Misses cup tie
Terry will miss Sunday's FA Cup fifth-round tie with Preston North End FC at Stamford Bridge as well as a number of league matches.
