Article body
Former FC København striker Thomas Kjærbye has agreed to play for financially-troubled Lyngby FC until the end of the season.
Player exodus
Lyngby were declared bankrupt in December 2001 and have been releasing players in a bid to recoup lost money. They currently prop up the Danish Superligaen, with two wins from 19 outings, and look destined for relegation.
'Nobody's afraid'
But 21-year-old Kjærbye, who is currently out of contract, has bucked the trend of player exits. He said: "I have given Lyngby coach Hasse Kuhn my word that I will finish the season in Lyngby. It's a team where nobody is afraid to break a leg for the cause, and I think we can get points against teams like AGF [Århus] or Vejle [BK]." Lyngby begin the second half of their season on 3 March at home to fellow strugglers Vejle.
