FC Energie Cottbus and Hertha BSC Berlin have both received fines following crowd trouble during their 1. Bundesliga fixture on 5 February.
Match halted
The match at Energie's Freundschaft stadium was interrupted shortly after kick-off and subsequently delayed for five minutes when fans let off fireworks and smokebombs. The German Football Association (DFB) has responded by fining Energie €40,000 and Hertha €15,000.
DFB threat to Energie
"Energie Cottbus were threatened that in a repeat of such an event they would have to play behind closed doors or find their game switched to a different location," the DFB said in a statement on Friday. Both clubs have until Monday to appeal.
Bans for 'ultra' fans
Following the game, Energie banned two sets of 'ultra' fans blamed for setting fire to part of the stands. The club will study video footage to identify any individuals involved and are planning to toughen their security measures.
