FC Metz goalkeeper Jacques Songo'o was flying back to Longueville-lès-Metz on Monday afternoon after staying overnight at Marseille's La Timone hospital.
Head case
The Cameroonian international goalkeeper suffered a blow to the head after a violent collision with Olympique de Marseille defender André Luís Moreira during his side's 1-0 defeat by Marseille on Sunday night. He was replaced by Ludovic Butelle in the 25th minute and taken to hospital.
‘Slight concussion’
A Metz spokesman said Songo’o’s injury was likely to keep him out for between two and three weeks. "Jacques suffered a slight concussion," he added. "He spent the night at Marseille hospital and had a scan this morning which turned out to be OK. He is flying back from Marseille later this afternoon with the team doctor and we should know more by then about the length of his absence with the club.''
