Hartson hero and villain for Celtic

Members

Celtic FC advanced to the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup with a 2-0 win at Aberdeen FC.

Celtic FC striker John Hartson was both the hero and the villain as his side advanced to the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup with a 2-0 win over Aberdeen FC at Pittodrie on Monday evening.

Neat finish
The Welsh international opened the scoring on six minutes with a close-range finish after good work by Stilian Petrov, but was later sent off for retaliation with five minutes of the match remaining.

Petrov on target
Bulgarian midfield player Petrov gave Celtic a two-goal lead within eight minutes of the start of the second half and Aberdeen were unable to drag themselves back into the match. Robbie Winters missed late on from the penalty spot, leaving Celtic to ease to victory.

Last four
Celtic now face either Dundee United FC or Ayr United FC in the last four, while rivals Rangers FC await the winners of the match between Partick Thistle FC and Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC.
