Lone goal
A 34th-minute goal from central defender Paul McNally was enough to see Longford earn all three points at Flancare Park, and Derry's misery was compounded when they had Sean Hargan dismissed after 60 minutes.

Derry in sixth
The win sees Longford ease further away from relegation trouble but Derry's chances of challenging for a top-three finish are looking increasingly slim. Derry are sixth with 38 points, five points better off than Longford in ninth.
