Article body
Shelbourne FC's Kevin Doherty could miss the rest of the season after tests confirmed that he has broken a rib.
Carried off
The defender was carried off on a stretcher in last Sunday's FAI National League game against Bray Wanderers AFC. "I thought it was only bad bruising because the hospital in Loughlinstown I went to said they couldn't see a fracture," said Doherty.
'I was in agony'
"Last night, though, I was in agony and could hardly breathe." Doherty continued. "So I went to Beaumont Hospital and they said that there was a broken rib. The chances are that I will be out for the rest of the season."
Major blow
Doherty's absence would be a major blow to the current league leaders as they look to win their tenth National League title.
