The club announced that the departures were by "mutual consent" after a campaign that has seen Braga eliminated in the semi-finals of the Portuguese Cup and hover around the mid-table mark in the top flight.

Nevertheless, Braga paid tribute to "this coaching team's fair share in the recent club successes" and said that both men will be "forever reminded by the club and the city".
