Paris Saint-Germain FC coach Luis Fernandez has decided to watch his side's games from the stand in future after recent problems with referees.
Sent off
The former French international was sent off during a 1-0 French League Cup defeat by FC Girondins de Bordeaux last Saturday, but it was not his first dispute with officials this campaign. "I have taken this decision without having suffered any pressure from outside," he told the club's official website. "I want to step back a bit and not to sit on the team bench any more for any domestic matches as long as I will be in charge at Paris Saint-Germain."
'For the good of football'
He added: "I would also appreciate if from today onwards, other team officials, coaches, players and referees would assume their responsibilities and make their own 'mea culpa' for the good of football in general and of the football in France in particular."
Bastia next
PSG's next league outing is on Wednesday night away at SC Bastia. Fernandez's assistant Jean-Louis Gasset will be on the bench in his place, while Fernandez takes a seat away from the action.
