Molde FK coach Gunder Bengtsson has extended his deal with the club for another two years.

Molde FK coach Gunder Bengtsson has extended his deal with the Norwegian Tippeligaen club for another two years ahead of the forthcoming new season.

Well-travelled
The well-travelled coach, who has been in charge of seven clubs throughout Europe, has signed a contract which keeps him at the Molde stadium until the end of the 2004 season. Bengtsson has previously coached IFK Göteborg and Örgryte IS in Sweden, Vålerenga IF of Norway, Greece’s Panathinaikos FC, the Dutch club Feyenoord, and Apollon Limassol FC of Cyprus.

'Good things ahead'
"We owe it to all who love Molde," said Bengtsson, who experienced a turbulent first year with internal problems leading to poor results, on the club's official website. "Last season was tough, but I believe we have good things ahead of us. Not qualifying for Europe was a big disappointment, but I think the side worked well for most parts of the season."

'Top-three finish'
The club obviously agree but will be looking for an improved showing in the league this season. Molde director Espen Silseth said: "We'll at least be aiming to finish in the top three." Molde finished fifth last season, well behind leading clubs Rosenborg BK and Lillestrom SK.
