Two key SC Fortuna Sittard players have been ruled out at least until the end of the season
Article body
The season of SC Fortuna Sittard, by some distance the Eredivisie's bottom club, continues to deteriorate with two of their key players ruled out at least until the end of the season.
Respectable team
Scottish forward Colin Cramb has a serious knee injury, while midfield player Jochem van der Hoeven will undergo surgery on his left shoulder tomorrow. Long-standing injuries to Joos van Barneveld, Pascal Averdijk, Jo Geerinckx, Stijn Haeldermans and Chris van Geem will also make it difficult for coach Hans de Koning to send out a respectable team against AZ Alkmaar tomorrow night.
Simons suspended
Meanwhile, Regillio Simons is suspended following his red card in the 3-0 defeat by Utrecht last time out. It will not be long before all these problems seem academic, however, as Sittard, with just two wins all season, have ten points to make up in seven games on nearest rivals Sparta Rotterdam to avoid automatic relegation.
