S.S. Lazio striker Hernan Crespo has been ruled out for at least a month with an ankle injury.

S.S. Lazio striker Hernan Crespo has been ruled out for at least a month after he suffered an ankle injury while training for the Italian club.

Ligament damage
The Argentinian striker was found to have suffered ligament damage this morning after suffering the injury yesterday. He is now out of Argentina’s friendly in Geneva against Cameroon next week and his loss will be sorely felt by Lazio, who are bidding for at least a UEFA Cup place for next season.

Key man
Crespo has scored 12 goals for the Rome-based club this season and is a key man for both club and country. Lazio are hoping to have him back in their lineup by the time they take on AC Hellas-Verona on 21 April.
