Fenerbahçe SK missed the chance to take top spot as they were held by Gençlerbirligi SK.

Fenerbahçe SK missed the chance to take top spot in Turkey's 1. Liga as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Gençlerbirligi SK on Sunday.

Dramatic equaliser
Haim Revivo had given Fenerbahçe the lead in the 19 Mayis stadium in Ankara but a dramatic last-minute strike by Ahmet Hassan ensured a share of the spoils for the resilient hosts. Fenerbahçe's Mustafa Dogan was shown the red card after 63 minutes and his team-mates failed to hang on until the final whistle as Hassan proved to be the hero for Gençlerbirligi. The result sees Fenerbahçe stay in second place on goal difference behind leaders Galatasaray SK.

Thrilling encounter
Bursaspor failed to make up ground on fourth-placed MKE Ankaragücü as they drew 3-3 at home to Denizlispor. In a thrilling encounter at the Atatürk stadium, Bursaspor led three times but were unable to seal the three points in a hard-fought contest. Okan Yilmaz opened the scoring midway through the first half, before Ali Tandogan equalised on the half-hour mark. Ender Alkan made it 2-1 after 36 minutes but Veysel Cihan's strike six minutes before the break levelled matters. Ender grabbed his second of the night three minutes into the second period, only for Bülent Ertugrul to earn Denizlispor a point in the 70th minute.

Red cards
The match between Samsunspor and bottom club Yozgatspor ended goalless, but did produce two red cards. Samsunspor were reduced to ten men when Klodian Duro was sent off in the 68th minute and the hosts lost another man as Mehmet Hakki Hocaoglu was dismissed five minutes from time. In Sunday's other match, two goals from Göztepe's Ersen Martin condemned Malatyaspor to another disappointing defeat. Martin struck after 38 and 67 minutes to move his side into mid-table, while Fazli Ulusoy's 77th-minute consolation was not enough to move Malatyaspor away from the relegation zone.
