Hertha BSC Berlin midfield player Marko Rehmer has had surgery on his injured ankle and will be in platser for the next four weeks.
Damaged ligaments
The 29-year-old German international was substituted with a suspected leg fracture after a crunching tackle by Christian Springer in Hertha's match against FC Köln on Saturday but tests later revealed he had actually damaged ligaments in his right ankle.
Surgical option
In a club statement, Hertha team doctor Ulrich Schleicher initially said he wanted to treat the injury "conservatively" but chose the surgical option once the swelling had gone down.
