Roberto Brown earned FC Sheriff Tiraspol the advantage in the quarter-finals of the Moldovan Cup.

Roberto Brown's late goal earned FC Sheriff Tiraspol a narrow first-leg advantage over FC Hîncesti in the quarter-finals of the Moldovan Cup.

One-goal cushion
The league leaders and cup holders struggled to break down a stubborn Hîncesti side until two minutes from time, when Brown gave Sheriff a one-goal cushion to take into the second leg.

Agro take advantage
Elsewhere, FC Agro Chisinau belied their lowly league position - they are rock bottom of the Divizia Nationala - to earn a 2-1 first-leg advantage over high-flying FC Nistru Otaci. Serghei Ianchuk put the league's third-placed side in front after only 12 minutes, but Serghei Chirilov and Andrei Zipunicov swung the tie in favour of Agro midway through the second half.

Onyeachonam goal
FC Constructorul-93 Cioburciu took a 15th-minute lead over FC Tiligul Tiraspol thanks to a goal from Joshua Onyeachonam, but Valentin Ivahnenco levelled the scores 20 minutes from time.
