NK Široki Brijeg's title hopes were dented on Saturday after they suffered a 1-0 defeat at NK Jedinstvo.
Široki slip up
Široki went into the match knowing they could depose FK Zeljeznicar from the top of the Bosnia-Herzegovinian Premier League if they took three points, but Jasmin Mujadzic's 17th-minute strike condemned the visitors to only their third defeat of the season.
Sarajevo triumph
That result gave third-placed FK Sarajevo the opportunity to close the six-point gap between themselves and Široki. And the capital club took full advantage, beating NK Grude 3-1 at home. Mirza Mesic struck in the 39th and 49th minutes to put the hosts 2-0 ahead and Adnan Osmanhodzic sealed the win with a third goal seven minutes later. Igor Ilic netted an 83rd-minute consolation for the visitors.
Joy for Olimpik
NK Olimpik Sarajevo lifted themselves up to seventh place with a 1-0 home win over NK Bosna. Samir Mekic netted the game's only goal after 12 minutes. In the day's remaining game NK Celik beat FK Velez 2-0 at home courtesy of goals from Dzemal Tabakovic and Senad Begic.
