FC København kept pace with Superligaen leaders Brøndby IF as they beat Esbjerg fB 6-0 on Sunday.

Zuma double
Christian Poulsen opened the scoring after exchanging passes with Todi Jónsson in the area and lifting the ball over Esbjerg goalkeeper Martin Jensen. Jónsson and Sibusiso Zuma put the game beyond Esbjerg with two goals in as many minutes at the start of the second half. Morten Bisgaard claimed two, either side of Zuma's second to complete the rout.

First win
Brøndby registered their first win since the winter break as they overcame Akademisk Boldklub 2-1 at the Gladsaxe Idræspark stadium. The league leaders, who have had a draw and a loss in their last two games, dominated from the outset and took the lead in the 39th minute when Rafal Niznik crossed into the area for Peter Madsen to score from close range.

Lindrup winner
But they only held the lead for six minutes before Akademisk equalized from the penalty spot. Nicolai Stokholm converted after Heine Fernández had been fouled in the area. Akademisk were reduced to ten men early in the second half as the former København defender Diego Tur was dismissed for his second bookable offence. Eight minutes from time substitute Thomas Lindrup scored the winner for Brøndby.

Odense victory
Odense BK won their third consecutive match as they defeated Vejle BK 1-0 thanks to a penalty from their leading scorer Kasper Dalgas. Silkeborg IF beat Lyngby FC 5-0 with Jesper Thygesen grabbing two, while Brian Pedersen, Bo Nielsen and substitute Per Ottosen completed the scoring. The game between Viborg FF and AGF Århus ended goalless.
