Championship group leaders Legia Warszawa had a stressful time as they were held to a 3-3 draw.

Legia Warszawa had a stressful afternoon today as they were held to a 3-3 draw.

High drama in Katowice
The championship group leaders only just managed to maintain their unbeaten run thanks to a late Stanko Svitlica goal in an epic encounter against GKS Katowice. Dragomir Okuka's side took a two-goal lead through strikes from Cezary Kucharski, after 12 minutes, and Sylwester Czereszewsk on the half-hour mark but third-from-bottom Katowice pulled a goal back through Miroslaw Sznaucner four minutes later.

Svitlica saves the day
The hosts came out a more determined side in the second half and, after Marek Swierczewski equalised from the penalty spot nine minutes after the interval, Krzysztof Gajtkowski put them ahead with 16 minutes left. Legia grabbed a point when Svitlica struck five minutes from the full-time whistle.

Polonia stumble on
KP Polonia Warszawa continued their stuttering form in the championship group with a goalless draw at home to lowly KS Ruch Chorzów. Polonia lie in third place, seven points adrift of city rivals Legia. TS Wisla Kraków and Odra Wodzislaw played out a 1-1 draw in the remaining championship group fixture.

Górnik win in style
In the relegation group, KS Górnik Zabrze moved to within two points of leaders Zaglebie Lubin after thumping Stomil Olsztyn 4-0 at home. After a goalless first half Andrzej Niedzelan opened the scoring in the 48th minute, Piotr Gierczak doubled their advantage 15 minutes from time and added a second five minutes later. Sebastian Olszar completed the rout in the last minute.

Slask go down again
Slask Wroclaw went down to a 3-1 home defeat against KSZO Ostrowiec and remain rooted to the bottom of the table after eight matches while third-placed RKS Radomsko kept in touch with the leaders by virtue of a 1-0 home win over Widzew Lódz - Dawid Banaczek's 45th-minute goal proving the crucial moment.
