Article body
Ilia Iliev has become the fourth coach this season of the struggling Bulgarian A PFG side PFC Beroe following the sacking of Tsvetomir Parvanov last week.
One game in charge
Iliev will take over from caretaker coach Rumen Branekov who was at the helm for only one game - a 3-0 defeat at PFC Chernomorets Burgas.
Five consecutive defeats
Ivan Vutov started the season in charge of the club but was replaced by Parvanov at the start of the year. Parvanov was then sacked after five games in charge of the club all of which were losses.
‘Difficult situation’
"It is going to be a challenge to take over in such a difficult situation," Iliev said. "The positive thing is that I have already walked this way – saving clubs from relegation. If I do not succeed this time, it is going to be my first failure."
A long way from safety
Iliev is almost facing an impossible task as Beroe are bottom of the table with ten points from 23 games, eight points behind PFC Cherno More and 14 points from safety.
