Article body
Victor Rosca has replaced Costel Lazar as the coach of FC Petrolul Ploiesti.
Experienced coach
Rosca has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract and has been assured of his future, even if the club are relegated from the Romanian first division this season. The experienced coach is the third person to lead the team this season following on from Lazar and Marin Barbu.
Tough fixtures
Petrolul are in trouble this campaign and lie in 15th place, which places them firmly in the relegation zone. They have some tough fixtures coming up including games against FC National Bucuresti, FC Steaua Bucuresti, FC Rapid Bucuresti and FC Dinamo Bucuresti.
Second spell
Rosca, who led a young Petrolul team to a respectable tenth-place finish in 2000/01, had been in charge of CS Otelul Galati at the start of this season. He unexpectedly left the club during the winter break. Lazar will now take charge of the club's reserve team.
