PSV Eindhoven's 1-1 draw with FC Twente saw them fail to gain ground on leaders AFC Ajax today.
PSV held
PSV were the better side throughout the match and created eleven goalscoring chances in the first half alone, but the visitors were left to rue their missed opportunities as Patrick Pothuizen headed in the opener on the stroke of half-time. However, it did not take long for a fluent PSV side to get back on level terms as Arnold Bruggink fired a superb right-foot shot in from 18 metres four minutes after the break.
No goals in Heerenveen
A disappointing match between SC Heerenveen and Roda JC ended goalless. Roda had to play the majority of the match with ten men after Bernard Tchoutang was sent off after 20 minutes, but the numbers were evened when Anthony Lurling received his second yellow card late in the game.
Willem fight back
De Graafschap let a two-goal lead slip against Willem II to draw 2-2. Michael Meerdink and Ruslan Valeev put the home side in front but Dmitri Shoukov reduced the arrears two minutes before the interval and Mariano Bombarda earned a point for the Tilburg side.
Sikora boosts Vitesse
Sparta Rotterdam look likely to have to face the play-offs to stay in the Eredivisie after they lost 1-0 at SBV Vitesse through a stunning Victor Sikora goal, while NAC Breda's faint hopes of a UEFA Cup spot for next season look to have been ended with a 4-1 away defeat by RKC Waalwijk.
Emphatic win
Goals from Yuri Cornelisse in the 47th minute, Jochen Janssen after 55, Rick Hoogendorp on the hour mark and a last-minute own goal by Tamas Peto gave the home team a deservedly emphatic win. Glen Salmon scored a consolation for Breda five minutes from time.
