Article body
Defending champions PSV Eindhoven maintained the pressure on Eredivisie leaders AFC Ajax by thrashing Willem II 6-0 tonight.
Three points behind
Mateja Kezman and captain Mark van Bommel both scored twice in the Philips stadium with Arnold Bruggink and Andre Ooijer adding a goal apiece. The victory means PSV now have 64 points, three behind Ajax, who need four points from their final two games to secure the Dutch title for the 28th time.
Hakansson double
SC Heerenveen's Jesper Hakansson scored both goals in their 2-0 home victory over FC Groningen to close the gap on third-placed Feyenoord to one point. Heerenveen still have to visit Feyenoord, who reached the UEFA Cup final two weeks ago but have faltered in their bid for the championship.
Upcoming play-offs
The result also means that Groningen drop to 16th place, a position which leaves them facing a relegation play-off at the end of the season with Sparta Rotterdam and six second division clubs for two places in the top flight.
