Article body
Israeli Cup holders Maccabi Tel-Aviv will host third division Hapoel Kiriat-Shmona in the quarter-finals of this season's competition following the draw for the remainder of the tournament.
Returning hero
The tie will see a return to the Bloomfield stadium for three-time cup-winner with Tel-Aviv, Benni Tabak, now coach of Kiryat-Shmona. "It will be a dream both for the players and myself to face Maccabi at the Bloomfield stadium," he said.
Tel-Aviv derby possible
If the home side come through the tie, they could face city rivals Hapoel Tel-Aviv in the semi-finals. However, the UEFA Cup quarter-finalists will have to get through the hard way, needing to overcome Hapoel Petach-Tikva in their postponed match even to earn a last eight match away at Maccabi Petach-Tikva, beaten in the 2001 final.
Champions host strugglers
League champions and current leaders Maccabi Haifa host struggling Maccabi Kiriat-Gat in their quarter-final as they look to win the cup for the sixth time.
Return to Beitar
The winners of that game take on either Beitar Jerusalem or Bnei Yehuda Tev-Aviv. Beitar lie bottom of the top flight and hoping to avoid defeat against the second division promotion hopefuls coached by former Beitar player and manager Eli Ohanah.
