A tournament is to be staged in memory of the 18 people killed in the Furiani stadium disaster on Corsica, the blackest day in the island's football history.
Several hundred injured
The event will be played on 5 May, exactly ten years after a temporary stand collapsed prior to the French Cup semi-final between SC Bastia and Olympique de Marseille. As well as the dead, several hundred people were seriously injured.
Mark of respect
The Ligue Corse de Football will invite 18 teams to play, all made up of players born in 1992, as a mark of respect to the dead. It will be played in the Grimaldi stadium in Bravone, which was named after a young fan who died in the tragedy.
Bastia in final
Bastia have won through to this year's French Cup final. It will take place on 11 May against FC Lorient at the Stade de France.
