Article body
FC Energie Cottbus goalkeeper Tomislav Piplica has been ruled out for the rest of the season after breaking a finger in his side's 1. Bundesliga match against VfB Stuttgart last week.
Double fracture
A medical check-up conducted after his return from Bosnia-Herzegovina's international friendly against Croatia, where he was forced to sit on the bench due to the injury, has revealed that he has suffered a double fracture in his little finger.
Long run
The Bosnia-Herzegovnian international will therefore miss his first match for Energie in nearly four years after clocking up 133 consecutive appearances since joining the club in the summer of 1998. Andre Lenz will replace the 33-year-old for the remaining matches this season, with Saturday’s match against TSV 1860 München his 1. Bundesliga debut.
