Article body
Future imperfect at Fir Park
Black quit together with chief executive Pat Nevin, as Motherwell chairman John Boyle put the Fir Park club up for sale. "At a board meeting earlier today the directors agreed to seek a court order placing the club in interim administration," Boyle said. "It does not mean the end of Motherwell Football Club and the club is not in liquidation. However, a financial restructuring of the club will take place."
Previous experience
Butcher had been working as assistant to Black since October, when the pair took over from Billy Davies. His previous managerial experience came with spells at Coventry City FC and Sunderland AFC in the early 1990s.
