Three red cards cast a shadow over an entertaining Old Firm derby when Celtic FC were held 1-1 by Rangers FC on Sunday.
Late grapple
John Hartson and Johan Mjällby of Celtic and Rangers defender Fernando Ricksen were sent off by referee Kenny Clark for grappling with each other after Hartson had rattled the visitors' crossbar a minute from full time.
Løvenkrands opener
In keeping with the explosive finale, from the kick-off the encounter was a high-tempo affair. Peter Løvenkrands gave Rangers a first-minute lead, latching onto a Christian Nerlinger pass and firing in a powerful shot which deflected off Mjällby and spun over goalkeeper Robert Douglas.
Thompson on target
But two minutes before the half-time interval, Alan Thompson put the home side back on level terms. Lubo Moravcik nodded Didier Agathe's cross into the danger area, John Hartson shielded the ball with his back to goal and Thompson took charge to score with a right-foot shot from four metres.
Cip rivals
Celtic have already won the Scottish Premier League, but this result ended their hopes of completing a whole league season without dropping any points at home. Martin O'Neill's side will be itching to get their revenge when the two sides go head-to-head in the Scottish Cup final on 4 May at Hampden Park.
Four-star Hibernian
In the day's other game, Hibernian FC eased to a 4-0 win against Motherwell FC at Easter Road.
Townsley haunts old pals
Goals from former Motherwell midfield player Derek Townsley, Frenchman Freddie Arpinon and two in the last ten minutes from Scottish international Garry O'Connor kept Bobby Williamson's team a place above Motherwell in the table.
