Maribor, on course for their sixth successive title, went ahead through Damir Pekic after 53 minutes. Koper, who still have designs on securing a UEFA Cup place, grabbed a crucial equaliser through Edmond Gunjac eight minutes from time.
Six points clear
The result means Maribor are six points clear of NK Primorje, who have two games left to Maribor's one, with a superior goal difference. Third-placed Koper now trail second-placed Primorje by a point.
