Polonia boost hopes
KP Polonia Warszawa gave their European hopes a boost with a 5-0 drubbing of Pogon Szczecin to move within two points of third-placed KS Amica Wronki, who were beaten 2-1 at KS Ruch Chorzów.
Goal feast
Pogon goalkeeper Slawomir Olszewski was sent off early on and Polonia took advantage to assume a two-goal lead by half-time thanks to goals from Marcin Kus and Igor Gloaszewski. A Pawel Skrzypek own goal and further strikes from Maciej Bykowski and Bartosz Tarachulski after the break sealed the win.
Dawidowski goal
Amica looked set to pick up three points at half-time of their game with bottom-placed Ruch, as they led 1-0 thanks to a 19th-minute goal from Tomasz Dawidowski. But two goals in seven second-half minutes, from Mamia Dzikija and Lukasz Surma, clinched an unexpected win for the home side. In the Championship Group's other game, Odra Wodzislaw were held to a scoreless draw by GKS Katowice.
