Kucharski on target
Cezary Kucharski's 22nd-minute goal was enough to preserve Legia's five-point advantage over defending champions TS Wisla Kraków in second place. Tomasz Sokolowski's right-wing cross could not find Stanko Svitlica, but as the Pogon defence failed to clear, Kucharski stabbed the ball home at the far post.
Derby joy for Odra
In today's other championship group game, Odra Wodzislaw had a 3-1 derby victory over KS Ruch Chorzów. Ruch went ahead on seven minutes through former Odra player Jan Wos but the home side equalised through youngster Damian Nowacki. However, the dismissal of Ruch's Mariusz Srutwa proved the turning point as Marek Saganowski and Jacek Matyja were on target for Odra in the second half.
Slask stay alive
In the relegation group, Slask Wroclaw kept their slim survival hopes alive with a 3-1 success against Stomil Olsztyn. Stomil scored first through Maciej Terlecki's 15th-minute penalty, but Dariusz Sztylka levelled nine minutes later. Slask took control after the break with Krzysztof Szewczyk and Slawomir Nazaruk securing their first league win in six months.
Level pegging in Lodz
A penalty apiece ensured a 1-1 draw between Widzew Lódz and KS Groclin Dyskobolia-Grodzisk, Grzegorz Rasiak's 64th-minute effort cancelling out Jacek Paszulewicz's first-half strike for Widzew. Honours were also even between KS Górnik Zabrze and KSZO Ostrowiec as an own goal from Ostrowiec's Rafal Lasocki equalised team-mate Jacek Dabrowski's first-half opener.
Radomsko stumble
Finally, RKS Radomsko had a miserable day as they lost 3-0 at home to Zaglebie Lubin. Midfield player Ireneusz Kowalski gave the visitors the lead on 33 minutes, and as Radomsko went in search of an equaliser they were hit by two late goals from Boguslaw Lizak.
