Brøndby IF continued to impress with a 2-1 win against third-placed Aalborg BK on Sunday.

Brøndby IF put an end to the crisis that had threatened to sink their championship hopes, picking up a 2-1 win against third-placed Aalborg BK.

Madsen double
Danish international Peter Madsen hammered the ball into the top right corner in the 12th minute and added a second midway through the first half with a shot through the legs of Aalborg keeper Jimmy Nielsen. Peter Tranberg reduced Brondby's lead after 34 minutes by lobbing a Michael Silberbauer pass over goalkeeper Mogens Krogh into the far corner, but the league leaders held on for the points. The win brings an end to a troubled week with Brøndby coach Aage Hareide resigning on Monday.

Derveld the hero for Odense
Dutch defender Fernando Derveld proved to be the match-winner for Odense BK, scoring with a last-minute header to give his side a 2-1 win against Esbjerg fB. Derveld scored from a corner in the 89th minute, just as it looked like the visitors would hold on for a point. After a disappointing opening to the match, Simon Karkov gave Esbjerg the lead when he went through the Odense defence and slotted past keeper Karim Zaza in the 33rd minute. The home side eventually equalised when Superligaen top-scorer Kasper Dalgas headed in after 70 minutes.

Møller winner
Second-placed FC København kept the pressure on Brøndby by defeating Silkeborg IF 2-1. København started well and took a deserved lead just before half-time through an own goal by Jacob Juhl. The visitors stunned the home crowd when they equalised just four minutes into the second half, winger Brian Pedersen scoring direct from a corner. But with ten minutes to go, Peter Møller managed to flick the ball over the Silkeborg goalkeeper Henrik Ipsen.

Easy for Viborg
Viborg FF had no problems dispatching of Vejle BK, a fine second-half performance rounding off a 4-1 victory. Vejle started well but fell behind three minutes before the break when striker Søren Frederiksen headed in a cross from Morten Hamm. Their lead was doubled 13 minutes into the second-half when Thomas Frandsen scored a superb solo goal, racing the length of the pitch before firing home. Saso Petrovski made it 3-0 on 84 minutes, slotting in a right-footed shot from 12 metres. And Petrovski grabbed his second five minutes later when he tapped into an empty net, Alex Nørlund scoring a late consolation for the visitors.

Skoubo back with a bang
Morten Skoubo was back for FC Midtjylland after injury and scored twice in a 4-0 victory against Lyngby FC. Skoubo weighed in with a second-half penalty and a strike after 60 minutes, Razak Pimpong having opened the scoring after 35 minutes. Pimpong rounded off the win with a fourth goal 19 minutes from time.
