Leaders Brøndby IF and second-placed FC København both recorded victories on Monday afternoon.

It remained business as usual at the top of the table with leaders Brøndby IF and second-placed FC København both recording victories this afternoon.

Seven-point cushion
Brøndby retain their seven-point cushion at the top thanks to Peter Madsen's 58th-minute strike at home to Esbjerg fB. But their Copenhagen rivals left it late for their 2-0 win at Viborg IF.

Lønstrup strike
The hosts pushed them all the way before finally succumbing to Christian Lønstrup's 85th-minute effort. Peter Møller added a second two minutes from time as Viborg pushed for an equaliser.

Unlikely win
Sikeborg IF notched an unlikely away win at Aalborg BK, taking the lead as early as the seventh minute through Bo Nielsen before Lars Brøgger put the result beyond any doubt 22 minutes from time.

Fourth place
Odense BK moved up to fourth place in the Danish Superligaen, for the time being at least, following a 1-0 win at FC Midtjylland.

Miti on target
Although both teams had a number of chances, it was Zambian striker Mwape Miti who scored the winner with a header after 52 minutes. The three points help Odense move above Midtjylland in the table.

Fernández hat-trick
Akademisk Boldklub were also victorious, as a second-half Heine Fernández hat-trick saw off rock-bottom Lyngby FC, while AGF Århus and Vejle BK played out a goalless draw.
