Gaúcho and Danny Miguel both scored twice as CS Marítimo enjoyed a 4-0 win over SC Salgueiros at the Barreiros stadium tonight.
Half-time lead
The home team raced into a 3-0 half-time lead, with Danny scoring twice, either side of a penalty by Brazilian striker Gaúcho. Danny opened the scoring in the 24th minute and Gaúcho struck 14 minutes later, before the midfield player hit his second in the last minute of the opening period.
Red cards
The visitors from the mainland stemmed the tide after the break but Marítimo did hit a fourth in the final minute of the game. Salgueiros finished the match with nine men after Ricardo Fernandes (22) and Carlos Andrade (90) were both sent off.
Marítimo sixth
With two games remaining Marítimo are sixth, while Salgueiros remain five points adrift in the relegation zone, and could go down - along with SC Farense and FC Alverca - next week.
