PFC Lokomotiv Sofia lead the way in Bulgarian relegation group with 1-0 home win over PFC Beroe.

PFC Lokomotiv Sofia continue to lead the way at the top of the Bulgarian Professional League relegation group after they secured a 1-0 home win over bottom club PFC Beroe on Wednesday.

Genchev winner
Diyan Genchev clipped the ball into the net after 32 minutes to hand all three points to the hosts who are now five points clear of PFC Marek. Marek had to fight back from a goal down to earn a point in a 1-1 home draw against PFC Cherno More. Kristiyan Dobrev's 14th-minute penalty gave the visitors the lead but Hristo Arangelov levelled for Marek three minutes after the hour.

Varna close gap
Third-placed Spartak Varna moved to within two points of Marek after recording a 2-1 home victory over PFC Spartak Pleven. Plamen Krumov opened the scoring for the home side in the 52nd minute but William Rocha Batista equalised five minutes later. Anastas Petrov sealed the points, however, with the winning goal in the 66th minute.

Goalless
Chernomorets and Belasitsa shared the points in the day's other game as they battled to a goalless draw.
