CS Otelul surrendered their seven-game unbeaten Divizia A run at the hands of in-form CF Sportul Studentesc on Sunday, going down by the odd goal in three.
Four games unbeaten
Sportul, who have now gone four games without defeat, gained three valuable points in their fight against relegation despite going a goal down to Danut Oprea's 67th-minute opener. The Bucuresti side hit back through Stelian Stancu's 82nd-minute strike and wrapped up the game in the last minute thanks to substitute Laurentiu Dinita.
Steaua back on track
Romanian champions FC Steaua Bucuresti, meanwhile, ended their run of six games without a win by beating FC Brasov 4-0. Steaua goalkeeper Martin Tudor made several early saves before his side took the lead on 25 minutes, Catalin Lita's powerful header from Daniel Balan's cross doing the damage. Six minutes later, Adrian Neaga converted a pinpoint pass from Pompiliu Stoica to double Steaua's lead.
Lita sees red
Then just before half-time Florentin Dumitru's free-kick from the edge of the box made it three. Lita was dismissed for his second bookable offence on 71 minutes but that did not stop Steaua scoring a fourth goal when Claudiu Raducanu turned in Mihai Nesu's cross three minutes from time.
