Article body
Superligaen strugglers AGF Århus have sacked coach John Stampe with the club in danger of relegation.
Drastic changes needed
Chairman Erich Meineche Schmidt said AGF needed to make drastic changes as they lie second bottom in the Danish top flight with just nine matches to play.
Initial success
Former AGF defender Stampe took over as coach in Janaury 2001 from Ove Christensen and helped the club avoid relegation last season, only to see their form slump again in 2001/02. His team also suffered a huge blow last month when experienced striker Søren Andersen, capped ten times by Denmark, broke his arm.
