FC Alverca missed the opportunity to ease their relegation worries as they were held to a 2-2 draw at Gil Vicente FC tonight.
Two-goal lead
Alverca, who lie second-from-bottom in the 1. Liga table, needed a win to close the four-point gap on their opponents but threw away a two-goal lead. Miguel Vargas put Alverca ahead after only five minutes and Caju doubled the lead in the 27th.
Relegation trouble
The home side, who are not yet clear of the relegation zone themselves, staged a second-half comeback, though, with strikes from Luís Loureido (48) and Marco Nuno (72) earning them a valuable point.
