Early goal
Radoslav Gilewicz's eighth-minute goal was enough to give Tirol their tenth championship at the Gerhard Hanappi stadium.
Admira frustrated
Meanwhile, VfB Admira Wacker Mödling had that sinking feeling as they let a two-goal advantage slip in a 2-2 draw with SV Austria Salzburg. The bottom club led through Kliton Bozgo and Harald Suchard, but Richard Kitzbichler reduced the deficit with a 55th-minute penalty and Thomas Hickersberger levelled in added time to deny the hosts a fourth success of the campaign.
No joy for Ried
Elsewhere, second-bottom SV Ried missed the chance to close the gap on Rapid in a 2-0 home defeat by Schwarz-Weiss Bregenz. Axel Lawaree scored the first nine minutes after the restart and Thomas Eller doubled up in the 84th minute. FC Kärnten drew 2-2 with FK Austria Wien in today's late game.
