Group 2: Denmark close in on Sweden

Denmark guaranteed themselves at least second place in Group 2 with a 4-2 defeat home of Finland.

Denmark guaranteed themselves at least second place in UEFA Women's Championship Group 2 with a 4-2 defeat of Finland in Odense.

Jensen double
The Danes actually went behind to a Susanna Heikaai goal after 15 minutes but fought back through Lene Jensen six minutes later. Jensen then put Denmark in front in the 61st minute and the game looked beyond the Finns when Mette Jokunsen, a 64th-minute substitute, scored in the 82nd minute.

Exciting finish
However, Laura Kalmari set up an exciting finish when she pulled a goal back for Finland a minute later.  Jokunsen had the final word, though, with her second of the day in the last minute to send the Danish crowd home happy.

Victory needed
Denmark need a convincing victory against leaders Sweden on 9 June to stand any chance of qualifying automatically for the 2003 FIFA Women's World Cup. It seems more likely, however, that Sweden will advance from this section to China with Denmark featuring in a play-off to find UEFA's fifth finals entrant.
